4.1 Magnitude Earthquake Shakes Dumingag, Zamboanga del Sur, Philippines



On Thursday noon, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) reported that Dumingag, Zamboanga del Sur was shaken by a tectonic magnitude 4.1 earthquake. The seismic event, with a depth of 15 kilometers, occurred at 12:04 p.m. and was located at 08.08°N, 123.39°E - 010 km S 30° E of Dumingag. According to Phivolcs, instrumental intensities of Intensity II in Molave, Zamboanga del Sur and Intensity I in Sindangan, Zamboanga del Norte; Kapatagan, Lanao del Norte; and Zamboanga City were recorded. Phivolcs stated that no damages or aftershocks are expected.
