Roland Dejesica: Strengthening Medical Services and Participatory Governance in Santo Tomas, Davao Del Norte

 Roland Dejesica is the current mayor of Santo Tomas, Davao Del Norte, in the Philippines. He is a member of the Hugpong ng Pagbabago Party (HNP), a political party that is aligned with the previous administration of President Rodrigo Duterte, the father of the sitting vice president Sara Duterte.


Mayor Dejesica committed to focus on strengthening medical care in his municipality during his campaign for the 2022 elections. He also promised to promote participatory governance by reviving the Mobile LGU program, which provides government services directly to citizens.

In the 2022 mayoral election, Mayor Dejesica won a resounding victory with 30,637 votes, representing 51.56% of the total votes cast. His closest competitor, Ernesto Evangelista Sr. of the People's Democratic Reform Party (PDR), garnered 22,962 votes or 38.64% of the total votes cast. The other candidates, Gabriel Eric Estela and Enad Alog, received 5,685 and 135 votes, respectively.


The win of Mayor Dejesica in the 2022 election demonstrates that the people of Santo Tomas, Davao Del Norte, have faith in his leadership and plans to enhance their municipality. His emphasis on enhancing medical services and establishing participatory governance through the Mobile LGU program is encouraging for Santo Tomas locals, and it is hoped that he will continue to work hard for the good of his constituents.
