Mutya ng Dabaw Beauty Pageant Returns After Three-Year Hiatus Due to Pandemic

Davao City, Philippines - The highly anticipated Mutya ng Dabaw beauty pageant is set to return in 2023, after a three-year hiatus due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The city government announced the news through the Araw ng Dabaw Facebook page on January 28, much to the excitement of pageant enthusiasts and supporters.

Initial screening for aspiring Mutya ng Dabaw candidates will be held on February 4, 2023, at the Waterfront Insular Hotel Davao, from 11 a.m to 5 p.m. Interested candidates are required to wear white casual attire during the screening, which should not be too revealing.

However, the guidelines for the pageant are yet to be posted on social media, and DCTOO head Jennifer Romero has not confirmed whether they will be similar to the pre-pandemic editions. Based on the 2020 guidelines, applicants must be female, between 18 to 28 years old, and a resident of Davao City for at least one year before the screening day. They must also be single or have not been married, at least a high school graduate, of good moral character, and have an advocacy focusing on women's welfare and social responsibility.
